Edwards Funeral Home, built in 1933 is located
at 201 North 12th Street. Due to the ever increasing population
of Fort Smith and the surrounding area a larger chapel was
constructed in 1960 and is still currently in use with a seating
capacity of 225. Edwards Funeral Home is centrally located
in downtown Fort Smith making access to all major cemeteries
a convenience to the families they serve.



Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, located at 4100
Alma Highway in Van Buren was constructed in 1978 by Delmar
"Butch" Edwards III and the late J.D. Edwards to
enable them to better serve the families of Crawford County
particularly the cities of Van Buren and Alma where Edwards
Funeral Home continued to become the funeral home of choice.
It is situated conveniently between the cities of Van Buren
and Alma, AR and is convenient to all major cemeteries in
Crawford County as well as nearby Interstate Highways I-40
and I-540. Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home is brick-veneered
10,000 square foot facility that includes a 120 seat chapel,
a family room that seats 32, 2 large staterooms convenient
to the visitation area that includes a coffee bar and refrigerator
for cold drinks. There is an open air atrium in the center
of the building that allows natural lighting in the building
interior. The facility is very contemporary with parking space
that will accommodate even larger funeral services and all
entrances to the facility are ground level making it convenient
to the handicapped and the elderly. The interior of the building
is done in colors and fabrics that most people would use in
their own home giving the building a very warm and home-like
feeling, which is of comfort to families that are suffering
the loss of a loved one.
